The American Forces at Salcombe and Slapton During World War Two

Seventy years have passed since American combat troops used Slapton Sands and neighbouring countryside for full scale rehearsal exercises in preparation for D-Day landings in Normandy France, which eventually led to collapse of Hitler's Germany and peace in Europe.
